Abstract
Digital Twin is transforming offsite construction by generating real-time, data-rich digital models that mirror physical assets. This chapter investigates the integration of Digital Twin and its associated technologies, such as building information modelling, laser scanning and sensors, illustrating how they can address critical challenges in offsite construction across the design, manufacturing, and assembly stages. an empirical study was conducted using semi-structured, selective interviews with stakeholders across the design, manufacturing, and onsite construction stages. These interviews employed open-ended and probing questions to gain nuanced insights into the application of Digital Twin in offsite construction. To analyse the data, a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) framework was applied, providing a structured understanding of both internal and external factors affecting the adoption of Digital Twin technologies. It further offers a vision for innovation, focusing on how these technologies can improve productivity, reduce waste, and promote sustainable practices in the offsite construction.
