Abstract

Throughout his extensive medical career, Jonga has amassed a diverse collection of materials encompassing both traditional Torghut cultural artefacts and communist literature, including journals, newspapers, photos, and various works by Mao. Jonga’s collection demonstrates a complex stance towards his ethnic and cultural heritage, juxtaposed with his steadfast allegiance to the Chinese Communist Party. On the occasion of the Chinese government’s centenary celebration of the Communist Party’s establishment, Jonga proudly exhibited his collection to the public within the confines of his Mongolian yurt in Hobogsair. According to Jonga, his exhibition garnered significant attention, attracting numerous local and national TV presenters. He claimed his exhibition as a pivotal Communist educational showcase, worthy of dissemination throughout the nation.
