Abstract
This presentation was given as part of a strand entitled "C202 - The changing scholarly communications landscape" at Internet Librarian International 2017. The talk covers some of the activities the Office of Scholarly Communication undertakes and how the workload is being managed. It then turns to the problems of staffing a new area where existing library staff are unfamiliar with the style and substance of the work.

The current recommendation prototype on the Apollo Repository will be turned off on 03 February 2023. Although the pilot has been fruitful for both parties, the service provider IKVA is focusing on horizon scanning products and so the recommender service can no longer be supported. We recognise the importance of recommender services in supporting research discovery and are evaluating offerings from other service providers.
