dc.description.abstract	Khargchin reminisces about the Dalai Lama’s visit to Kalmykia in the 1990s. Her son, who was an MP then, helped the Dalai Lama. One of the people who accompanied the Dalai Lama was Telo Tulku Rinpoche who later became the head of the Buddhist establishment of Kalmykia. Khargchin says that she always read prayers for the Rinpoche. It is under his leadership that many stupas were built in Kalmykia.
