Abstract
A study of Benedict of Alignan's treatise (completed c. 1261), analysing its singular approach to heresy and error (namely by topic, rather than by heretical group) and demonstrating its very wide manuscript circulation; it is one of the most widely circulated thirteenth-century anti-heresy treatises, a fact that has not be recognised within the field.
