Abstract

Ivan talks about his maternal relative called Zhootkan Manzh, who was a famous hunter and a horse thief. He had six fingers in his hand. He kept his hound outside and fed it with bulmg (dish made from butter and flour). With his friends he stole horses from Cossacks or from villages in the Caucasus. One day Zhootkan Manzh, along with other thieves, was killed by Cossacks.
