Description

This Matlab code quantified the order of magnitude of greenhouse gas emission reduction by converting wastepaper to cellulose fibre and film.

We reconciled data from various sources, including the production of paper products from the FAO, global mass flow of paper products from Journal of Industrial Ecology 22 (4), 686-693, and greenhouse gas emission from Nature Sustainability 4 (2), 180-187.

Please run Process_Paper_Production.m to obtain the results. Please change the parameters in the files to conduct sensitivity analyses.

The current version is for the full mitigation scenario. The direct substitution scenario can be calculated by releasing Lines 49-50 in ReplacementGHG.m.
