Abstract
A collection of previously unpublished medieval technical recipes is presented, which describe the preparation of wooden supports for painting, both panels and sculptures, including glue, grounds, and gilding. They provide contemporary documentary evidence which supports and compliments the technical examination of surviving medieval European painted wooden artefacts, specifically those from England with which they are contextualised. The Latin text is edited with an English translation.
