Abstract

Lying on the western side of a sand and gravel capped island in the fen, the site appears to have been primarily agricultural since Roman times, comprising part of the extra-settlement field systems of Littleport. Prior to this however, it seems to have been the focus of prehistoric activity specifically Bronze Age occupation. In summary, the nature of archaeology expected within the area is probably characterised by Romano-British/Medieval field ditches and Bronze Age settlement, neither of which, however, is likely to be dense.
