Abstract
Biocatalysis is an environmentally friendly, cost-efficient alternative to chemocatalytic synthesis. Yet improvements in specificity and efficiency are needed, and have to be generated quickly to meet the fast pace of product development in industry. This ambition is met by droplet microfluidics, a powerful tool to scan vast libraries at kHz speed with >107/day throughput. Instead of μL robotic liquid handling systems, pL water-in-oil emulsion droplets are generated in PDMS chips replacing the use of plasticware.

The current recommendation prototype on the Apollo Repository will be turned off on 03 February 2023. Although the pilot has been fruitful for both parties, the service provider IKVA is focusing on horizon scanning products and so the recommender service can no longer be supported. We recognise the importance of recommender services in supporting research discovery and are evaluating offerings from other service providers.
