Abstract
<jats:p>A continuous synthesis strategy enabling the large-scale and cost-effective synthesis and functionalization of iron oxide nanoparticles in a single setup is developed, leading to fully biocompatible and application-ready PEG coated nanoparticles.</jats:p>
